Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) I like "Between the Waves" better, but nevertheless this EP is a quite enjoyable work in the tradition of "Pink Floyd". Especially "Dark Side of the Girl" is an excellent track with great musical ideas. Favorite track: Dark Side of the Girl.

Seven Ages 05:16
Look at me. Speak to me. Tell me something real. This faceless wave of dialogue is losing it's appeal. You make a noise, it resonates but doesn't reach it's mark. Humanity we emulate begins to fall apart. You would be naive to think that what you think means anything. When all you do and all you say amounts to nothing at all. Offer up our sentiment with artificial heart. The world around us is the stage, content to play the part. Seven Ages. You would be naive to think that what you think means anything. When all you do and all you say amounts to nothing at all. I've got better things to do than read about your point of view. When all you say and all you do amounts to nothing at all. We're so connected now but never been so far apart. When everyone knows everything and no one's ever wrong. Look to a time when things were better. You could change a life or save the world. You would be naive to think that what you think means anything. When all you do and all you say amounts to nothing at all. I've got better things to do than read about your point of view. When all you say and all you do amounts to nothing at all.

One of Us 05:44
Here is someone new. He doesn't look like us. An archetype of long ago. His plating's soft and warm. His wires drip red oil. He's delicate and beautiful. We don't want him here. He's come to steal our jobs. He's human. Human. His extinction was justified. He's not one of us. He's different. Their kind went out of style back in 2044. Extinguishing all traces of the past that lie before. Why would they do this to them? Capable of love and war a creature of extremes. Their highest aspirations couldn't satisfy their dreams. How could they do this to them? Now we have a specimen to study and adore. Let's cut him up in tiny bits, examine him some more. Cut him up good. He's not one of us. He's different than us. He's not one of us. He's different than us. Radiation burns the skin. Separation, life from limb. Why would we do this to them? We can give or take away. Just like they did everyday. How could they do this to them? He was someone new.

Sunday morning, the atmosphere was different. He was gone, she could see it in his eyes. Left alone, it wouldn't be the first time. By Sunday evening she knew it was goodbye. It's nothing new. It's hauntingly familiar. We've heard this story a million times before. She's the victim. He's the rotten apple. She obsesses. He can't take it anymore. And then the feeling comes. It makes her numb. Makes it easy to get along. And soon the darkness finds her fragile mind. She tries in vain to leave it all behind. There's a deeper meaning to the world. There's a darker side of the girl. Sunday morning, she was acting rather distant. That familiar glaze had seeped into her eyes. Run away, it wouldn't be the last time. By Sunday evening he knew it was goodbye. And then the feeling comes. It makes her numb. Makes it easy to get it wrong. And soon the darkness finds her shattered mind. Maybe this time she'll leave it all behind. There's a deeper meaning to the world. There's a darker side of the girl. And she feels it's deeper than her and she wakes alone. She knows that life is bigger than her and she wakes alone.

You had to go A part of the show Paving the path you follow I believe The things you'll achieve Are worth the tears you swallow Miles are blind To the wonder you find Inside your restless mind Save your tears, we will be here Waiting to see you again As I lie Alone in my bed Collecting the thoughts in my head And when the day Takes me away Remember the words I said Time is blind To the aging mind And the life you leave behind Dry your tears, for I will be here Waiting to see you again Miles are blind To the wonder you find Inside your restless mind Dry your tears, for I will be here Waiting to see you again

Years of evolution cut down in it's path Washed away by the acid rain or a psychopath Cellular intrusion, mind is absentee We shut off when we switch on to technology We search for absolution but we're too blind to see A selfish man doesn't understand generosity You can have your freedom, as much as you're allowed This Golden Age of Nothing is upon us now Face the day with uncertainty The curtain drawn, the picture fades to black It won't be coming back Seen it all, we're desensitized Homogenize the newscast, redirect With lessening effect Would we walk the razor's edge to fuel our vanity? Give up our sanity? To sit upon that Golden chair Collect our things, ignore reality For some it's meant to be Tread against the sea and you will be in this Golden Age of Nothing Feel the weight of the stone, you're all alone in this Golden Age of Nothing Immortality, a fantasy in this Golden Age of Nothing In Between the Waves, we are slaves to this Golden Age Tangled in this masquerade, have we forgotten who we are and what we might have been? To live the ultimate charade, someone tell me, someone tell me why We decide to live the lie Tread against the sea and you will be in this Golden Age of Nothing Feel the weight of the stone, you're all alone in this Golden Age of Nothing Immortality, a fantasy in this Golden Age of Nothing In Between the Waves, we are slaves to this Golden Age Ashes, ashes, all fall down Years of evolution cut down in it's path Washed away by the acid rain or a psychopath Cellular intrusion, mind is absentee We shut off when we switch on to technology We search for absolution but we're too blind to see A selfish man doesn't understand generosity You can have your freedom, as much as you're allowed This Golden Age of Nothing is upon us now I raise my eyes to the sky Searching for a guide Looking for one to give me peace I raise my hands in surrender I can't take anymore I cannot take this pain and suffering I didn't know what to say I didn't know what to do You look at me, I look at you. We say nothing Feeling a waterfall Tired of it all You look at me, I look at you. You've acquired a lifetime of regret You haven't even started living yet You may find there's barely enough time To turn around and run

Review from DPRP.net
"Overall The Golden Age Of Nothing is a good album. Prog fans who like their music on the lighter side (i.e., not metal) will enjoy it."
